The latest version of Kami's Chrome extension allows you to open Google Docs, Slides, and Sheet directly in Kami.
What does the Kami button inside Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets do?
The latest extension update includes a Kami button located on your Docs, Slides, and Sheets menu bar (see screenshots below).
Clicking the Kami button will instantly open your Docs, Slides, or Sheets into Kami.

How can I use the Kami button in Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets?
The Kami button opens up a lot of possibilities for creation and collaboration! Whether you're looking to turn materials into a Kami assignment or want to add multimedia comments to your instructions, using the Kami button gives you the option to elevate any teaching resource.
Optional: Convert files when you “Open with Kami”
We just released a beta feature that allows you to save different versions of your Google Docs/Slides/Sheets files in your Google Drive.
Opening your Docs/Slides/Sheets in Kami with the "Convert non-PDF file" feature means that the original file will be saved as a new version, separate from the version that you'll be editing in Kami. In a nutshell, the new copy acts as a backup that you can fall back on if you prefer it over the edited version(s).
How to turn on "Convert non-PDF file":
1. Go to your Kami Profile in the top right-hand corner.
2. Click Settings, then scroll down to the Beta Features.
3. Click + On for the Convert non-PDF file.
